PTSD

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is not a disorder! It is the normal human condition of responses attempting to adapt and restore the emotional equilibrium of the person exposed. The aftermath of traumatic emotional experiences: military combat; natural disasters; holocaust; rape; mutilation; torture; and witnessing
mayhem produces physiological and psychological symptoms in response to the overwhelming nature of the exposure. Events of these magnitudes leave few unscathed.
The reality is never erased. However, inadequate adaptive responses, symptoms, can be modified and mastered to restore emotional balance.
